Messy Hair Must-haves.

I love a good messy 'do. It's my go-to hair look.
My hair type is actually very low maintenance - not only is it thick, but it's also coarse so any style I do tends to stay in until I wash it next (which is great for lazy me). It also never seems to look greasy - I'm still not sure on that one, I'm convinced my hair's magic. It seems to grow more in the length than in the roots too - magic
Despite all of this I still like to add a bit of 'feel' to it. Ironically enough, I prefer my barnet when it's on second or third day hair because it looks a little more lived-in. I hate soft hair.
After adding light curls to my hair I like to spritz in a little of John Frieda's Beach Blonde Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray (£6.99) into the ends to muss them up a little more. I love this stuff for adding texture and hold to my waves - and it smells lovely.
Secondly, I like to give my roots a little lift. Dry Shampoo works well enough but I don't always like the stiff, dry feeling of my hair afterwards so I prefer the Toni & Guy Casual Rough Texturiser (£7.19). This is great for root boosting and adding to the whole boho hair look.

If you're into the whole festival, boho-y vibe and want hair to match, I can't recommend these two hair products more.

A Controversial Love...

I feel like the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder range is a bit of a marmite brand - you either love it or you hate it. I've heard many a bad review about their products (especially since that Fleur DeForce video) but I've honestly, hand on heart, never had an issue with any of their products.
I've been using the Go Blonder Shampoo and Conditioner for months along with the Brightening Oil Elixir and so far, no scary side effects - just clean, non-brassy hair.
I've recently added the Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray to my collection and I'm actually pretty impressed so far. I've been using this for a few weeks now and I've been spritzing it thoroughly through my clean, wet hair after every shower and I've definitely noticed a difference in brightness throughout my barnet.
I'm not sure if it's completely down to this since I use so many other products from the range but I know it's definitely a contributing factor.

If you have blonde hair, I wholly recommend this range. I understand there's quite a bit of controversy surrounding it but you'll never know until you try. You might end up loving it.

New Additions to the Haircare Routine.

In recent weeks I've become a little bit obsessed with my hair. I don't know if it's because I've got mad roots at the moment (hurry up Wednesday, hurry up Wednesday) or I've just harboured a hidden infatuation and only now has it reared it's head.
As a general rule, I'm all for the low maintenance 'do - I just can't be bothered spending time primping it everyday - but, like any girl, I am concerned with how my hair looks. I've spoken before about my love for boho hair (see this post here), and since that style looks better the more lived in it is, it's easy for me to uphold.
I've also talked about the upkeep of blonde hair and what products I tend to reach for - see this post here - in that post I praised the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder range and I still love it. The Shampoo & Conditioner along with the Brightening Oil Elixir work wonders in keeping my hair soft and vibrant. I thought I'd add to my collection by picking up the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray (£6.99) - to be sprayed throughout wet hair to help lighten blonde locks. I've not used it enough times to say it's actually worked a great deal yet but I'll be sure to have a review up as soon as I'm sure.
A second addition is a new release and comes in the form of John Frieda's Beach Blonde Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray (£6.99) - I bought this on a recommendation from Lauren Conrad, see here. This stuff smells delicious! Lauren described it as smelling like vacation and I know exactly what she means, the scent just sends you to a tropical paradise. It's not heavy nor crispy, and adds just the right amount of texture to my hair.

If I've not already stated it enough (I have, many times over here and over twitter - sorry) Wednesday can't come quick enough. Maybe after I've had my mop chopped and my roots done I'll start liking my hair again.
