What's on my Face: Birthday Edition.

I turned the ripe old age of 21 at the end of April this year and people are constantly reminding me how 'it's all downhill from here' any of you over 21ers heard that one?
Anyway, to celebrate, me and 7 of my darling friends planned a weekend venture up north to Geordie Land or Newcastle to other, more normal people.
The coach ride both to and from was killer though, I will admit the ride back may have been a little more brutal due to the consumption of ALOT of vodka the night before.
I had so much fun and it definitely made the top 5 for all time best nights out I've had so thank you to everyone that came - huge hugs and kisses.

To get to the point of this post, I thought I'd share with you the make up I wore whilst gallivanting on the toon...Enjoy!

I really did have to think hard about what makeup I was going to take with me (seriously, the trip was planned months in advance and it still took me to the last week to decide what I wanted to take). I wanted makeup that would make me look flawless yet not too 'done up'. I wanted it to look natural whilst offering a decent amount of coverage. In laymen's terms, a pretty big shoe to fill.
So I started with my Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer to smooth out any lumps and bumps my skin may have (I'd spent the entire week prior making sure my skin was in tiptop shape for this night out so luckily I didn't have any pesky breakouts that were going to cause me hassle). I then applied a thin layer of my MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW10 to even out my skintone, this is a no-brainer foundation for me as it dries pretty matte and doesn't budge. I then went in with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair to cover any blemishes and under eye circles that weren't concealed by my foundation. Then it was time for eyebrows, and I hate doing my eyebrows! for me it's more of a chore than anything else as I can never get them exactly how I want them! I soldiered on and did the best that I can using my trusty Sleek Eyebrow Stylist in 716 Light to fill in any gaps and tidy up the shape.
EYE TIMEEEEEE!! I kept it quite simple on the eyes as I knew I wanted to go for a bold lip so a slick of the Rimmel Scandaleyes precision micro eyeliner with a slight, barely there flick for some elongation and lashings of my Maybelline the Rocket mascara gave me enough definition in the eye area before sticking on some false lashes (well Kate stuck them on for me because I suck at false lashes) - Millie Mackintosh's Shoreditch lashes are my favourites! so natural looking whilst adding plenty of drama to the eyes (I made a point of asking a couple of my guy friends if they could tell I was wearing them and they said no...WINNER).
I didn't use any blush that night as I was going through one of my 'blush looks shitty on me' phases, but looking back I wish I had done now! If I had took a blush colour it would've been the Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Pink - a gorgeous natural looking colour that adds the loveliest of flushes to the cheeks. I added some definition to my face with my go-to contour shade - NYX blush in Taupe a great contour colour for you pale gals out there as it doesn't look too muddy or too orange. I patted the tops of my cheekbones with a cheeky borrow from Kate - Illamasqua Gleam in Aurora. To help my face stay put I dusted some of my Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Transparent in my t-zone area just to keep the oil at bay and took it out with me for touch ups throughout the night (though I only remember touching up once as I got too drunk to care).
My lips were my favourite part of this entire makeup look. I love my dark lips and this was a perfect time to showcase my new favourite ever dark lipstick that was MAC's Rebel - a gorgeous purple, red shade that is just to die for! I firstly outlined and filled in my lips with my Maybelline Colorsensational lipliner in 338 Midnight Plum this is a great base coat for any red lipstick and it stays on for ages. After slicking on Rebel I gave my lips a quick coat of Lipcote just to stop any feathering or bleeding throughout the night and let me tell ya, this stuff works! I kissed a few of my friends on the cheek and my lipstick didn't transfer or smudge AT ALL.

So to end this incredibly long and rambly post, I had an amazing birthday night out with a face of make up that managed to tick all of my boxes! BRILL!!
