What's on My Face: Autumn/Winter Edition.

My makeup switches up pretty drastically come Autumn/Winter. I bring out my more fuller coverage foundations, I contour a little more harshly, I tend to wear darker lips around 3/4 days out of the week and I change up my usual matte primer for something a little more radiant.
I adore Autumn/Winter makeup. I feel it's this time of year that really encourages us to actually play with colour since most of us leave our love for it in Summer.
In Summer, dark lips and harsh contours are usually reserved for nights out and reddish-toned eyeshadows (MAC Cranberry anyone?) aren't touched or even thought about unless Halloween was to suddenly pop up in June.
When the seasons change, so do the rules of makeup and those dare-to-wear shades become the social norm of everyday life. I significantly switch up my everyday products around this time of year so without further ado, welcome to my Autumn/Winter makeup menu.

First off, I applied my new favourite radiance primer - Bourjois' Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer to add a little illumination to my face and prevent it from looking dull. As my foundation of choice for this day, I went with Rimmel's Lasting Finish Nude Foundation. A medium coverage base designed to look like you're barely wearing anything, I love it. I then went in with a new favourite of mine, the Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening concealer and applied this in a triangular motion underneath my eyes to counteract any dark circles. I quickly ran a little of Soap & Glory's One Heck of a Blot powder through my t-zone to keep any shine at bay, though the foundation does a good job of controlling my oils by itself.
Moving onto my brows, I filled them in with Sleek's Eyebrow Stylist in Light and then combed them through with Rimmel's Brow This Way in Medium Blonde to set them in place. I contoured my face (my cheekbones, edges of my forehead and under my chin) with my NYX blush in Taupe - the contour colour for pale girls and swept a little of Natural Collection's blush in Dusty Pink to my cheeks for that Winter flush. I popped a little of No7's Instant Radiance Highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones to finish off my base.
Progressing to the eyes, I swept a thin layer of Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe on my eyelids before packing a little of MAC's Mythology on top of that to create a more coppery tone to the eyes. I also ran both of these under the lower lash line, focusing Mythology more on the outer half. I then went in with my Rimmel Scandaleyes Micro Precision liquid Eyeliner to create a wing on my upper lash line and coated my top and bottom lashes with Max Factor's False Lash Effect Waterproof mascara. I lined my waterline with the Rimmel Scandaleyes kohl pencil in Taupe to tie the whole eye look together without it looking as harsh as using black.
To get my lip look, I started off by lining my lips with the Maybelline ColorSensational lipliner in Midnight plum - a deep, dark red that looks great under any berry-toned lip. I then filled in the middle with Rimmel's Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte in 107. I'm surprised I'd managed to ignore the beauty blogger/vlogger enabling for this product for so long, I'm glad I finally caved though. It's stunning.

I promise this will be the last of the Autumn/Winter posts for a while now. I didn't realise how many I'd done until I'd actually taken the time to flick through my notebook. Oops. I can't help it, I just love this time of year so damn much!
Warm socks and hot chocolate for everyone!
