Mood Board: Style Influences.

I recently did a post on what personal style means to me - see here - but I thought I'd expand on that idea for some Sunday food for thought.
In this day and age it really is extremely easy to find fashion influences from pretty much anywhere - magazines, blogs, tv shows and even the girls lunching beside you.
I'll be honest and say that I have a slight obsession with style. I like to take inspiration from others and re-create my own outfit using something as simple as a similar flannel shirt or ripped jeans.
I'm not totally clued up on high end fashion - I know the obvious ones (Chanel, Burberry, Prada, etc...) and a few lesser known ones that I favour myself (Balenciaga is just...aah) but other than that, I think it's easy to find what you're looking for without spending hundreds.
I've previously stated that I love the whole boho-y/grunge look (hello Kylie, Mary-Kate and Vanessa) - that's completely up my street, but I also love the classic, elegant look a la Serena Van Der Woodsen or Lauren Conrad. Lauren looks sophisticated in anything she wears and Blake Lively's wardrobe on Gossip Girl was to die for.

When looking for style influences I don't limit it to just fashion - after all, hair and makeup tend to fall under the 'style' umbrella in my books. How you tailor your tresses and your eyeliner can say just as much about you as a pair of killer heels or Converse.
If you don't already know (you probably do) I'm in love with Ashley Benson's hair. I love the colour, the cut, the length...everything. She's my ultimate hairspiration (and the true reason I dyed my hair fully blonde) and the person I always tell my hairdresser to do my hair like - which is easy since my hairdresser is as big of a Pretty Little Liars fan as I am.
Pinterest is my go-to for actual ideas of what to do with my barnet. Braids are a huge thing for me, I love them - anything to make my hair more Olsen twinny.
As for makeup, it's Vanessa Hudgens all the way. The girl matches my love for dark lips and smoky eyes with the occasional cat flick. I like strong contour, full brows and a champagne highlight - I just wish I wasn't so pale.

I always assumed my style would change dramatically when I hit my twenty's. I thought I'd become more sophisticated, wear more skirts and actually run a brush through my hair every now and again.
I turn 22 next month and I'm still dressing like I did in college, my hate for skirts is still infinite and my hair is just as messy and unkempt as it was 3 years ago.
I guess some things may never change.
